Crystal Cave, located in Spring Valley
Wisconsin has developed a new hiking trail that offers an
opportunity for viewing native birds and wild flowers in
western Wisconsin. This trail and adjacent picnic area are
on private property but they are open to the public at no

Mercord Mill Park on the riverfront in downtown Prescott.
A favorite spot to view the line where the blue waters of
the St. Croix meet the muddy waters of the Mississippi. A
public boat landing is located south of the park.
Freedom
Park located on a bluff in Prescott features an overview
of the Mississippi & St. Croix Rivers. Features visitor
information center ,picnic & children's
play area.
Bay City Campground in Bay City. 2-5 blocks south and
southwest of Hwy 35. Features a river view, public picnic
& children's play area, public boat launch.
Village
Park in Maiden Rock. 1/4 block south of Hwy 35. Features
a river view, picnic shelter, camping, fishing & boating dock.
Village
Park on Main Street in downtown Plum City. Features a
trout pond, fish food vending machines, picnic tables, shelter..
Eau Galle Recreation Area near Spring Valley. Has several

Boat Camping/Hiking:
Kinnickinnic State Park between Prescott & River
Falls.
A wooded area of 1,242 acres, Kinnickinnic State Park is a
day-use park with camping limited to boats. It features 7
miles of hiking trails, trout fishing, picnic areas, swimming
area along the beach (restroom & payphone), and an overlook
of the valley. Winter use includes cross-country skiing, snowshoeing,
and ice fishing. A park sticker is required on all vehicles.
It offers boat camping for up to 110 boats on the sand delta
where the Kinnickinnic River enters the St. Croix. All boats
must be self contained. $15 per boat/per night.

I-94 at Hudson take Co. Rd. F/Carmichael Rd. (exit 2) 8 miles
south; 8 miles from downtown Prescott Hwy. 10E to Hwy 29E

being a favorite trout fishing location, other amenities
include a Softball diamond, playground equipment, picnic
shelters, grills, and restrooms. Primitive campsite,

Nugget
Lake County Park near Plum City.
Nugget
Lake County Park was named for the gold mining that took
place in the late 1800's. Open year round, it features 752
acres of semi-wilderness. The lake is 1.8 miles long and 550
ft. wide. Walleyes, bass, bluegills, and crappies are fished
year round. Because only electric trolling motors are allowed,
it is one of the most peaceful lakes you will visit in Wisconsin.
The
park features a 55 site modern campground, drinking water,
hot showers, flush toilets, dump station, two playgrounds,
nature programs, horseshoe pits, hiking trails, picnic area,
dock & boat launch, canoe, boat and Kayak rentals, 3 cabins, and wintertime
in-line cross country skiing. DNR licenses, bait, ice, and
firewood are available.

Eau
Galle Lake Recreation Area near Spring Valley.
The
Eau Galle Flood Control Project with its dam, lake, recreation
areas and channel improvements was initiated in 1958 to control
flooding in the Spring Valley area The dam is the largest
earthen dam in the Midwest.
Main Day Use Area: Features picnic shelters, large
playground area, boat launch (only electric motors allowed),
courtesy dock, and fishing dock. $3 parking fee. Walking path
to the beach area.
Beach
Area/Parking: Features picnic, beach & swimming area,
3 sand volleyball courts. Beach Parking Lot Fees: $1/head
up to $3 (per vehicle), age 12 & under free. Registered campers
get a free beach parking lot pass.
Northwest Day-Use Area: Located along the Eau Galle
River and Lake. Picnic shelter, grills, port-a-jons, bank
fishing, great sight-seeing.
Lousy
Creek Access: Boat launch on Co. Rd. NN, close to campground.
Only electric motors allowed.
Highland
Ridge Campground: Located on the north end of Eau Galle
Lake on Co. Rd. NN. Open May-Oct. Features 38 drive-on campsites;
35 sites with electricity, 7 tent sites (45 total sites).
Flush toilets, hot showers, playground area, hiking trails,
cross country ski trail, horse trail, free firewood & water,
nature programs in air conditioned Interpretive Center. Campground
host on duty. From Spring Valley, follow Hwy 29-E to Hwy 128-N
then take first left onto 10th Ave., then N on Co. Rd. NN.
The Eau Galle Recreation Area is located north of Spring Valley,
WI; 50 miles east of the Twin Cities and 40 miles west of
